Movie Filming at Francis Jewellers

Recently, Francis Jewellers had the pleasure of hosting its first film shoot! Mid September 2021, we welcomed the film crew from Hallmark’s Christmas House 2 into our new space and stood back to watch the movie magic happen!

Before we knew it, our store was filled with a fantastic film crew, expertly transforming our showroom into a winter wonderland themed jewellery store, while the storefront disappeared from sight behind large trucks filled with equipment. The film, a sequel to 2020’s The Christmas House, needed a jewellery store location to film a scene in which a rather large engagement ring is being selected, starring Robert Buckley (you may remember him from One Tree Hill!). Once the movie is released, you will be able to see our jewellery case filled with our designs on the big screen. We are very excited to see the results!

Back in August, we were scouted and jumped at the opportunity to participate in Victoria’s (and British Columbia’s) booming film industry, known to many as Hollywood North. Living in Victoria, it is totally commonplace to see white film trucks lining the streets or to be watching a film and recognize our beautiful home as the filming location. We were astonished by the energy of the crew. To watch such efficient teamwork is fascinating! Amazingly, filming took less than a day to complete and once the Christmas decorations had been taken down, and the equipment put away, it was like they had never even been here (except for a few lingering sparkles and pine tree needles).

We, at Francis Jewellers, can’t wait until Christmas 2021 to watch our debut on the big screen. In the meantime, we’ve been inspired to step up our Christmas decorating this year in our new location now that we’ve seen what it could look like. Be sure to add Francis Jewellers to your Christmas shopping list this year and support Victoria’s oldest jewellery company and a small local business!
